Velo Strengths From 3 mg to 12 mg, Flavor by Flavor
VELO sells five strengths in its current US lineup: VELO Plus at approximately 3, 6, and 9 mg and VELO Max at approximately 8 and 12 mg, all in 20-pouch cans. Seven Plus flavors come in 3 mg, all eleven in 6 mg, and nine in 9 mg. At 12 mg, only Max Cool Mint and Wintergreen are listed. Original VELO (about 4 and 7 mg) is still described in VELO's FAQ, but it was not on velo.com's product pages on Oct 24, 2026.

How This Chart Was Built
Flavor-strength pairs from velo.com's Plus and Max pages; line details from VELO FAQ; prices from Northerner. Nicotine per can = label mg × 20. VELO labels say "approximately." No products were lab-tested or use-tested. Roon makes a competing caffeine pouch, and this article links to it; all numbers come from brand pages and retailer listings.
VELO 3 mg
Seven VELO Plus flavors come in 3 mg: Watermelon Chill, Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintergreen, Wild Berry, Cappuccino, and Smooth Tobacco (60 mg per can). Mint and Citrus Chill skip this tier, starting at 6 mg. Nearest cross-brand: ZYN 3 mg and Rogue 3 mg. ZYN also sells 1.5 mg, lower than any VELO.
VELO 4 mg (Original)
VELO's FAQ lists approximately 4 mg per pouch for the original line: tobacco-derived nicotine, dry format, 10 flavors (Mint, Citrus, Wintergreen, Spearmint, Cinnamon, Dragon Fruit, Citrus Burst, Black Cherry, Peppermint, Coffee). The FAQ does not say which of the 10 come in 4 mg versus 7 mg. This line was absent from the main velo.com product pages and Northerner's VELO grid in Oct 2026.
VELO 6 mg
All 11 VELO Plus flavors are available at 6 mg, the only strength with the complete lineup. Dragon Fruit and Tropical Heat are exclusive to this tier. Each can carries 120 mg of total nicotine. Nearest cross-brand: ZYN 6 mg (15 pouches per can), on! PLUS 6 mg, and Rogue 6 mg.
Only at this strength: Dragon Fruit and Tropical Heat do not come in 3 or 9 mg.
VELO 7 mg (Original)
Same original line, same 10 flavors, same dry tobacco-derived format as the 4 mg tier, just at approximately 7 mg (about 140 mg per can). Availability mirrors 4 mg: listed in VELO's FAQ but absent from the main product pages and Northerner's VELO grid in Oct 2026. The VELO vs VELO Plus vs VELO Max comparison covers how the three lines differ in detail.
VELO Max 8 mg
Four flavors: Wintergreen, Cool Mint, Berry, and Cinnamon. Berry and Cinnamon are 8 mg only and do not come in 12 mg. Each can delivers 160 mg of total nicotine. Max uses tobacco-derived nicotine in a "Higher Moisture" pouch with a disposal lid (see the VELO Max review). Nearest cross-brand by label mg: ZYN 8 mg, 15 pouches per can.
Only at this strength: Berry and Cinnamon Max. They do not reach 12 mg.
VELO 9 mg
Nine VELO Plus flavors reach 9 mg: Watermelon Chill, Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintergreen, Wild Berry, Cappuccino, Smooth Tobacco, Mint, and Citrus Chill. Each can holds 180 mg of total nicotine. Dragon Fruit and Tropical Heat stop at 6 mg. Cappuccino at 9 mg carries a velo.com note: available online only (Nicokick, Northerner, Prilla). Nearest cross-brand by label mg: ZYN Ultra 9 mg, on! PLUS 9 mg and Rogue Max 9 mg.
VELO Max 12 mg
The strongest VELO in the US: Max 12 mg, two flavors only (Cool Mint, Wintergreen), 240 mg of total nicotine per can. Cross-brand alternatives at 12 mg: on! PLUS 12 mg and Rogue Max 12 mg. ZYN Ultra tops out at 11 mg. Rogue Max also lists a 15 mg pouch (see strongest nicotine pouches ranked).
Nicotine per Can and Price per Pouch
| Strength | Line | Nicotine per can | Northerner single-can price | Price per pouch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 mg | Plus | 60 mg | $4.49 | $0.22 |
| 6 mg | Plus | 120 mg | $4.49 | $0.22 |
| 8 mg | Max | 160 mg | $4.49 | $0.22 |
| 9 mg | Plus | 180 mg | $4.49 | $0.22 |
| 12 mg | Max | 240 mg | $4.49 | $0.22 |
Nicotine per can = label mg × 20. Price per pouch = can price ÷ 20. Bulk at Northerner: $3.49/can (Plus, 50 cans), $3.29/can (Max, 50 cans), prices checked Oct 24, 2026. For every bulk tier, see the VELO price breakdown.
Label mg is content, not absorbed dose. Moisture, nicotine source and time in the lip all change delivery, so the label number alone cannot tell you how two pouches compare; the VELO vs VELO Plus vs VELO Max comparison covers how the lines differ.
Why Roon Has One Strength
Roon is a caffeine pouch, not a nicotine pouch, so there is no ladder to climb: every pouch is the same 80 mg of caffeine with 60 mg L-theanine, 25 mg methylliberine and 5 mg theacrine. Anyone who wants more on a given morning can put two in together for 160 mg. The ceiling is 4 pouches a day, and total caffeine from coffee, soda and pouches combined should stay under the FDA's 400 mg daily figure for healthy adults. Duration comes from methylliberine rather than a bigger dose, as the section at the end explains.
Before Moving Up a Strength
Higher mg means more nicotine per pouch. Poison Control advises stopping if you feel dizzy and keeping each pouch to 60 minutes or less. As of Oct 30, 2026, the only VELO products with an FDA marketing granted order are 24 Velo Mini Pouch products, all 4 mg; the other 43 of the 67 authorized nicotine pouches are ZYN, ZYN Ultra, or on! products. Nicotine is addictive (FDA).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the strongest VELO in the US?
VELO Max 12 mg, available in Cool Mint and Wintergreen (20 pouches, 240 mg total nicotine per can). Nothing stronger is listed on velo.com's US site.
Does VELO make a 15 mg or higher pouch for the US?
Not on velo.com/us: the US lineup stops at Max 12 mg per VELO's FAQ. Stronger VELO products that show up on some ranking lists, covered in strongest nicotine pouches ranked, are not part of that US lineup.
Is VELO 6 mg the same as ZYN 6 mg?
Same label number, different product. VELO Plus 6 mg uses synthetic nicotine in a moist, 20-pouch can. ZYN 6 mg uses tobacco-derived nicotine salt, 15 pouches per can. Pouch size, moisture, nicotine source, and can count all differ.
Is there a 2 mg VELO?
Not in the current US lineup. VELO's FAQ lists Plus at about 3, 6 and 9 mg, Max at about 8 and 12 mg and original VELO at about 4 and 7 mg, and velo.com's product pages show no 2 mg pouch. The lowest VELO you can buy is a 3 mg Plus.
One Strength, a Longer Window
Picking between 3, 6, 9, and 12 mg is a dose-selection problem. Roon skips it. It is a zero-nicotine caffeine pouch, placed under the lip: 80 mg caffeine, 60 mg L-theanine, 25 mg methylliberine (Dynamine), 5 mg theacrine (TeaCrine). Two at once bring you to 160 mg; four a day is the cap, staying inside the FDA's 400 mg caffeine ceiling for healthy adults.
One strength works because methylliberine slows caffeine clearance. A randomized crossover study (n = 12) found that methylliberine with caffeine extended caffeine's half-life from 7.2 to 15 hours without raising peak concentration (Journal of Exercise and Nutrition). That study used 100 mg methylliberine and 150 mg caffeine (about 4× and 1.9× what a single Roon pouch contains), so the mechanism applies directionally, not as an exact match. A 15-hour half-life describes clearance, not how long you notice it; at 80 mg, most people feel one pouch for 6 to 8 hours. Keep your last Roon pouch at least 8 hours before bed.
Roon costs from $9.16 per tin on a 12-tin subscription, as little as $0.61 per pouch. If you are stepping away from nicotine pouches and want an under-the-lip habit without the nicotine, Roon is worth a look.
