How Much Caffeine Is in Bang? 300 mg per 16 oz Can
A 16 fl oz can of Bang Energy contains 300 mg of caffeine, the figure printed on Bang's own US homepage. That works out to 18.75 mg per fluid ounce and 75% of the 400 mg daily ceiling the FDA cites for most healthy adults. By caffeine alone, one Bang equals about 3.75 cans of 8.4 oz Red Bull.

Is 300 mg of Caffeine a Lot?
It sits at the top of the range the FDA describes for energy drinks: 54 to 328 mg per 16 fl oz. A single can uses three quarters of the FDA's 400 mg daily figure, leaving just 100 mg for coffee, tea, or anything else with caffeine the rest of the day. Two cans would hit 600 mg, well past the threshold.
If you drink Bang and other caffeinated beverages in the same day, the math matters. For a deeper breakdown, see how many energy drinks a day is too many.
Do All Bang Flavors Have the Same Caffeine?
Bang's US homepage lists a single caffeine figure for the entire line: 300 mg. As of October 2026, bangenergy.com shows eight flavors:
- Purple Haze
- Peach Mango
- Lime Pop Drop
- American Berry (a limited flavor released May 18, 2026 for America's 250th anniversary, per Wikipedia, citing BevWire)
- Blue Razz
- Black Cherry Vanilla
- Cotton Candy
- Star Blast
Former lines, including Bang Natural, Bang Keto Coffee, and Bang Shots, are no longer sold. The homepage gives one caffeine figure for the whole line rather than a per-flavor breakdown.
Why Bang in Canada Has Less Caffeine
Health Canada caps caffeinated energy drinks at 180 mg per serving. That regulatory ceiling applies to caffeine from all sources. Caffeine Informer lists Canadian Bang at 180 mg per 473 ml can, not 300 mg. By that figure, a Canadian can carries 40% less caffeine than the US version.
Who Owns Bang Now?
Monster Beverage. On July 31, 2023, Monster's subsidiary Blast Asset Acquisition LLC completed the purchase of substantially all of Vital Pharmaceuticals' assets for approximately $362 million, according to Monster's announcement. VPX, Bang's original parent company, had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on October 10, 2022. The site footer now reads "© 2026 - BANG Beverage Company LLC."
Who Should Skip a 300 mg Can
Bang's own FAQ, quoting its label, states the drink is "recommended for 18+" and "not recommended for children, people sensitive to caffeine, pregnant women or women who are nursing".
The FDA lists symptoms of excess caffeine: faster heartbeat, fluttering heart, elevated blood pressure, sleep disruption, nervousness, shakiness, upset stomach, nausea, and headache. Toxic effects like seizures can appear around 1,200 mg consumed rapidly. The agency also notes that medical experts advise against energy drinks for children and teens.
If you have a heart condition, take stimulant medication, or are pregnant or nursing, talk to your clinician before consuming a 300 mg energy drink.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Bang discontinued?
No. After Vital Pharmaceuticals filed for bankruptcy in October 2022, Monster Beverage acquired Bang's assets in July 2023. The brand is still active: bangenergy.com listed eight flavors in October 2026, and a limited American Berry flavor launched on May 18, 2026, per Wikipedia citing BevWire.
Does Bang have sugar?
No. Bang's homepage states "ZERO CALORIES ZERO SUGAR".
Is Bang stronger than Monster?
Bang's 300 mg per 16 fl oz can sits near the top of FDA's energy-drink range. For Monster's own numbers by can and line, see how much caffeine is in Monster.
How long does a Bang last?
Bang does not publish a duration figure, and the FDA does not list a standard half-life on its consumer page. Caffeine's effects vary by individual metabolism, body weight, and tolerance. A safe practice: avoid caffeine at least eight hours before you plan to sleep.
80 mg at a Time, Not 300 at Once
A Bang can spends 75% of the day's caffeine budget in one pour. Roon splits it into smaller steps: each pouch delivers 80 mg of caffeine, placed under the lip with 60 mg L-theanine, 25 mg methylliberine (Dynamine), and 5 mg theacrine (TeaCrine).
The methylliberine is there for duration. In a randomized, double-blind crossover study (n=12), co-administering methylliberine with caffeine reduced caffeine's oral clearance from 41.9 to 17.1 L/hr and extended its half-life from 7.2 to 15 hours, without raising peak concentration (study). That study dosed 100 mg methylliberine plus 150 mg caffeine, roughly 4x the methylliberine and 1.9x the caffeine in a single Roon pouch, so the mechanism applies directionally, not at the study's magnitude. A 15-hour half-life does not mean 15 hours of lift; a single pouch is usually felt for about 6 to 8 hours. Keep your last pouch at least eight hours before bedtime.
Need more lift? A second pouch later adds another 80 mg step. Cap it at four pouches daily, and stay within 400 mg total from all sources. Zero sugar, zero nicotine. Prices start from $9.16 per tin on a 12-tin subscription, as little as $0.61 per pouch.
